Addiction

  1. Definition- "The fact or condition of being addicted to a particular substance, thing, or activity."

While nearly every college student plays some type of electronic game, whether it be phone/Ipad apps, computer

games, or video game consoles, most do not know that they might actually be addicted.

Gaming addicts willingly forgo sleep, food, and real human contact just to experience more time in the virtual
world.
They will often times (especially over weekends) play for ten, fifteen, or twenty hours straight in a single gaming session, every day.
Sometimes, it is not this severe, but the effects can be equally as devastating
Often times students can play games like Candy Crush, Temple Run, or Clash of Clans for hours everyday and not even realize it.
This causes students to have less and less time to dedicate themselves to doing homework, studying for tests etc.
It is important for students to recognize the severity of choosing gaming over studying, and create a a habit of putting their success in school above beating the next level of their game.
You can always start replay another level on your game, but you can't replay this part of your life.
So make the most of it while you can!
You will regret it if you don't.
